Edney

Edney is a first generation Canadian, been in Calgary for over 2 decades. Backed with strong Roman Catholic values, he’s a long-time member of St Peters Parish in Silver spring and has been an active volunteer for years.

Proud resident of Hawkwood, which is a part of ward 2. A loving family of 4, my wife Manisha, kids Zenobia and Zanial have been brought up with fond Catholic values. My kids study at St. Maria Goretti elementary school. I’m proud to be a resident of Alberta, where faith-based education still exists, the school board’s mission is to “empower students to reach their full potential, to meet the challenges of life, to serve their community and to journey in faith with God, through Christ, in the Spirit.” which is a part of my core values.

I strongly believe Catholic schools are instruments of the Church, reaching out to young people of our communities with Christ’s teachings about life, death, and resurrection.

Catholic schools are designed not only to develop the intellectual abilities of children but also to teach them to love others, to make good judgments, and to develop good work habits and skills for getting along with other people. Catholic school activities, policies, discipline, and rules should be based on the gospel message of Jesus Christ, a message of unconditional love.
